Quotes

An offer to a customer: what they could buy and at what price, which they accept or decline.

A quote holds lines with a description, a quantity, and a unit price, and a total. It can name the deal it prices.

How it works

A quote is a Document. It moves like this:

  1. You draft the quote. A draft changes freely.
  2. You click Send quote. Continual numbers the quote, such as Q-12, and makes it final.
  3. When the customer answers, you click Accept quote or Decline quote.

Send quote does not email the customer. Share the quote with them yourself. A sent quote no longer changes. To offer different terms, draft a new quote.

A line can name one of your products. A quote can also name the legal entity that sells, and an order drafted from it copies its lines.

Document: final once committed; a new document corrects it.
