Work through your to-dos
Switch your thread to To-dos, open a to-do, review what it brought, and finish it with a key.
Continual writes each to-do's brief before it reaches you, so most take one key to finish.
Open and finish a to-do
Open your thread
Choose Continual in the left rail. In the message box, the Chat | To-dos switch shows how many to-dos wait.
Switch to To-dos
Click To-dos, or press ⇧ Tab in the message box. Your to-dos list under Open and Done. Type in Search to-dos to find one.
Open a to-do
Click the to-do. Its own thread opens, headed by the to-do: its title, when it is due, its brief, the records to review, and the replies on offer.
Review what it brought
Choose Open beside, or press ⌘ \. The first record to review opens beside the thread. Press the keys again to close it.
Act on it
Click a reply, or press its number, such as 1. A reply that says you did it, such as "Sent it", closes the to-do. A reply that asks for more, such as "Make it shorter", goes to Continual, which works on it. You can also write anything else to talk it through.
Finish it
Click Done, or press ⌘ ↵. To come back to it later, click Snooze, or press Esc in the empty message box.
The to-do's head then says how it ended. To go back to your main thread, click Chat above the to-do. A to-do's replies show until you first write in its thread.
- Which of my to-dos is most urgent?
- Snooze this until Monday morning.
- Give this to-do to Rachel.
Keys while you work
The keys work when the message box is empty. On Windows, use Ctrl in place of ⌘.
| To | Press |
|---|---|
| Switch between Chat and To-dos | ⇧ Tab |
| Open or close what to review | ⌘ \ |
| Fill in the first reply | Tab |
| Choose a reply | Its number, such as 1 |
| Complete the to-do | ⌘ ↵ |
| Snooze the to-do | Esc |
When a to-do offers replies, the first one shows in the empty message box. Press Tab to fill it in, then press ↵ to send it, or change it first.
Snooze takes the to-do out of your open to-dos until 9 AM tomorrow, in your local time. To cancel a to-do, ask Continual.
