Keyboard shortcuts

Every keyboard shortcut in the Continual web app, grouped by where it works.

Press ? on any page to see the shortcuts available there. This page lists them all, so you can learn them before you need them.

On Windows and Linux, press Ctrl where this page shows ⌘. Single-key shortcuts pause while you type in a field.

Everywhere

Shortcut	What it does
`⌘` `K`	Search and go to. Works while you type, too
`?`	Show the keyboard shortcuts for this page
`/`	On any other page, open what it shows beside your thread

In the search that ⌘ K opens, ⌘ ↵ opens the selected result in a new tab.

These work in your thread with Continual.

Shortcut	What it does
`/`	Move to the message box
`↵`	Send your message
`⇧` `↵`	Start a new line
`⌘` `\`	Open or close what is beside the thread
`⌘` `↵`	Complete the to-do whose thread is open
`⌘` `⇧` `↵`	Mark the task beside the thread done
`⇧` `Tab`	Switch between Chat and To-dos

Shortcut	What it does
`Tab`	Fill in the first reply on offer, to send or change
`1`, `2`, and so on	Send the reply with that number
`Esc`	In a to-do's thread, snooze the to-do. Elsewhere, leave the message box

Shortcut	What it does
`C`	Create a record of the list's type
`↑` `↓` `←` `→`	Move between cells
`↵`	Open the focused row's record, or edit the focused cell
`Space`	Preview the focused row's record
`X`	Select the focused row
`F2`	Edit the focused cell. Typing starts an edit, too
`⇧` and an arrow key	Select a range of cells
`⌘` `D`	Fill the range down from its first row
`Esc`	Cancel the edit, leave the focused cell, or clear the selection

While you edit a cell, ↵ saves and moves down.

These work on a record's page, and J and K also work in a record's preview.

`J`	Go to the next record
`K`	Go to the previous record
`E`	Edit the record's title
`Esc`	Close the record and return to where you were

Shortcut	What it does
`↵`	Save a one-line field
`⌘` `↵`	Save a multi-line field
`Tab`	Save and move to the next field
`⇧` `Tab`	Save and move to the previous field
`Esc`	Cancel the edit

Shortcut	What it does
`⌘` `↵`	Post the comment
`Esc`	Close a reply you started
