Connect Gmail and GitHub

Connect your mailbox and your organization's GitHub so their work syncs into Continual.

Each connection belongs to you or to the organization. Only you see your own, and what it syncs; everyone sees the organization's.

Connect an account

  1. Choose where it lives

Open Settings. For your Gmail, choose You under Continual. For the organization's GitHub, choose Organization.

  2. Start the connection

Under Connections, choose Connect. Then choose Connect Gmail or Connect GitHub.

  3. Grant access

Continual sends you to Google or GitHub. Sign in and allow access. For GitHub, you sign in through the Continual GitHub App.

  4. Come back to Continual

You return to Continual, and the sync starts on its own.

The connection shows the account it uses and how its sync is going: Syncing…, then Synced with the time. Settings › Connections lists every connection you reach, with whose it is.

To include a GitHub organization's repositories, install the Continual GitHub App on that GitHub organization.

Fix or remove a connection

  • Needs authorization means Continual cannot reach the account. Choose Authorize and sign in again.
  • To remove a connection, choose its delete button, then Disconnect. What it synced into the connection, such as email conversations, is removed. Records it synced into the organization stay.

Coming: reach Continual from other places you work, such as Slack and email.
